Using Gloster for an educational interactive poster

Glogster is a Web 2.0 tool that allows users to create virtual posters combining linked or embedded text, video, images, and music. Glogster can be used in educational settings as an alternative to traditional poster presentations. It is a social networking site, but I registered for the education version of Glogster at Glogster EDU. It is possible to create up to 200 numbered student accounts but about 10 student accounts for free.
This will be useful for my students to make interesting posters. It is an exciting use of multimedia for those who love using computers/ technology but it can be a positive achievement for every student provided they are given guidance and tutorial especially if the learners are new to technology. This, I believe would encourage participation by students and increase healthy competition among the students to produce the best poster.
This will definitely enhance the quality of students work and the combined features of the multi-media used, makes it very interesting.

Lesson observation - using padlet for feedback

A collection of hyperlinks- growth and development worksheet with images

This is a collection of hyperlinks to websites, YouTube and images. the worksheet allows students to take ownership of their learning and research information themselves rather than been spoon fed. It allows participation on the part of the students and frees up the tutor to facilitate learning as well as support weaker students.

Video recording uploaded onto an audio tool

Myself and colleagues recorded this video on a flipcam and uploaded it onto Audioboo. I got frustrated wondering why the video wasn't showing but soon realised that I was using an audio tool hence the name and not visual. Audioboo will be useful for verbal feedback because it will allow me to upload recordings to the Audioboo website which students can access. They can also use it to upload group discussions recorded from their phones and upload it with very little guidance or instructions. It is very easy to use.

How technology enhances learning

I have explained how I think technology enhances learning. This is embedded here:

I have used this YouTube video because of my example of using technology to find information or instructions about hand washing techniques and I think this video will appeal to both young and mature students.
